The Da Vinci Code gave Rosslyn Chapel worldwide attention. But it is fiction.

Book Reviews

Here we shall post details of books which we think will be of interest to visitors to this site. Please be aware that because of our small number and the potentially huge number of books and other publications which could justifiably be included here additions are likely to be sporadic and arbitrary (depending on who is reading what at any given time).

The Rosslyn Templars have decided that the time is now right to sub-divide the books of interest to us into five main categories:

The Knights Templar

Rosslyn Chapel

Freemasonry

History

Fiction

Miscellaneous

It may be that some further sub-divisions become necessary, for example, ‘history’, might be divided into Scottish and non-Scottish.

Authors who are/are not Freemasons

One of the curious features of all the books written about Scottish Freemasonry, Rosslyn Chapel, the Knights Templar, the St Clair family et al is that very few are Scottish and/or are Scottish Freemasons. This does not mean that such writers are not qualified to write on such subjects. However, we are asked if a particular author who writes about Freemasonry is actually, for example, a Scottish Freemason, an academic historian or an acknowledged expert on a particular subject. Instead of answering each and every such enquiry separately we have attempted to provide information in one place. To see information about a variety of writers on the aforementioned subjects click here: Are writers X, Y or Z Scottish Freemasons?
